Est. 2021 — Dover, Delaware
Our Story
POTIL began in a rented kitchen with a hot plate, a thermometer and a stubborn idea: a candle should smell like something real.
Six years spent formulating fragrance for other brands revealed a market that was mostly sweet, mostly loud, mostly forgettable. POTIL was the corrective. We started with three blends built around fig leaf, eucalyptus and amber, poured fifty jars at a time, and sold them at a Saturday market in Dover.
Five years later the formulas have barely changed. The studio is bigger, the wax is a proprietary coconut-soy blend, and every batch still gets burn-tested from wick to base before it ships. We stay small on purpose: small batches let us hold a standard that scale usually erases.
We call it modern apothecary — clinical about ingredients, generous about atmosphere. Nine products, three collections, no filler.
What we hold to
Formulation first
Every scent starts as a formula, not a trend. We test each blend across a full burn before it earns a label.
Clean by default
Coconut-soy wax, cotton and wood wicks, no parabens or phthalates. Nothing we would not burn at home.
Made to be kept
Amber glass, smoked glass, matte terracotta. Our vessels outlive the candle inside them.

Poured in batches of 200 or fewer, wick-set and cured for ten days.

Our Craft
“A room should feel thoughtfully considered the moment you walk in. That is the whole role of home fragrance.”
POTIL began with a simple idea: home fragrance should be thoughtfully considered, botanically inspired and memorable. Each scent is developed with careful attention to formulation, atmosphere and everyday use.
